Individual Lessons

Functional Synthesis

Individual movement lessons are called Functional Synthesis (FS). During an FS lesson, the practitioner will work with the student, typically on a wide, low table. Lessons can also be done on the floor and in a chair. Slow, gentle movements wake up your brain and create new neural connections to form new patterns of thinking and moving. It is safe and gentle, and suitable for everyone.

Lessons for Kids

Kids can benefit from NeuroMovement® lessons at any age.  Lessons can look a lot different than adult ones, and may involve toys, movement around the room, or lying on the table.

Why NeuroMovement® for kids?

School struggles, autism, ADHD, self-regulation,   anxiety, sports injury, posture and gait, concussion, premature birth...and more!

Intensives

To mitigate learning loss between lessons, book an intensive which is a cluster of 5-10 lessons scheduled over a shorter period of time.

I suffered from a serious fall in June, including a cracked cheek bone, cracked jaw bone, four dislocated teeth and a decent concussion. My first visit out of the hospital was to Colleen. She walked me through a variety of movements with no pain. My dizziness subsided quickly and I came out of the session feeling more together. During the two months following, I was travelling and could not access NeuroMovement®. I went to acupuncture instead. It was after my first acupuncture that I realized the value of NeuroMovement®. The acupuncture helped significantly less, and I still felt disoriented after. I highly recommend NeuroMovement® after a brain injury. It was the gentlest, calming and yet effective technique that positively impacted my recovery.

I had some soreness in my left knee that had been ongoing for a few weeks. I had Colleen do a NeuroMovement® lesson with me. Interestingly, she worked on my right side and did not even touch my left knee. My homework that night was "walk different" to retrain my brain to think differently about my knee. By the next morning my knee was noticeably better and within a couple of days the pain was completely gone and has not returned since! I have never experienced such a noticeable difference so quickly.
